The outgoing Mayor of Wolverhampton has thanked pupils who helped to raise nearly £4,000 for his chosen charities.

Nineteen schools held a special dress down day earlier this year in which pupils were invited to wear their own clothes in return for a small donation to charity.

They included Bilston Church of England, Dunstall Hill, Field View, Grove, Hill Avenue, SS Mary and John, St Andrew’s, St Anthony’s, St Martin’s,
St Patrick’s, Stow Heath, West Park, Ormiston SWB, Khalsa Academy, West Midlands UTC, The Orchard, Broadmeadow Special and Tettenhall Wood schools and The Midpoint Centre – and they raised a grand total of £3,682.06.

Mayor Councillor Phil Page said: "I would like to say a big thank you to all the schools that took part; it was a fantastic effort which raised thousands of pounds for good causes."

Proceeds will go to the Mayor's chosen charities, Wolverhampton MS Therapy Centre, Kingswood Trust, Good Shepherd in Need and Inspire You.
