Representatives including pupils, teachers and governors from Bilston Nursery, Eastfield Nursery, Low Hill Nursery, St Michael's CE Primary and Moseley Park schools attended the event at the City Suite to showcase their success. They enjoyed afternoon tea and were presented with trophies and certificates to mark their achievements.
Eastfield Nursery and Bilston Nursery schools were rated Outstanding - both for the fourth time in succession - in January and February this year respectively, Low Hill Nursery received an Outstanding judgement in November, St Michael's CE Primary was found to be Outstanding in December, while Moseley Park completed a remarkable turnaround when it received its Outstanding rating in September - just five years after being placed into special measures.
Councillor Lynne Moran, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills: "Less than a fifth of schools nationally are rated Outstanding, so these five schools have joined a very exclusive club.
"They should be proud of their achievements, which are thanks to the dedication and hard work of everyone, including school leaders, teachers, governors, pupils and parents and, in many cases, also thanks to the valuable support of our School Standards service.
"It's wonderful to know that they are all giving their children and young people the highest levels of education and giving them the best possible chance to succeed in life."
Ofsted defines an Outstanding school as one which is 'highly effective in delivering outcomes that provide exceptionally well for all its pupils' needs. This ensures that pupils are very well equipped for the next stage of their education, training or employment'.
Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Phil Page said: "Bilston Nursery, Eastfield Nursery, Low Hill Nursery, St Michael's Primary and Moseley Park schools have all done incredibly well to raise standards and improve outcomes for your children and young people - and their efforts have been rightly praised by inspectors."
