Parents and guardians of children who will start school for the first time in September 2016 are being urged to apply for places online now.

The window is currently open for applications for reception places at infant and primary schools in Wolverhampton. The online application process is quick and easy and parents and guardians have until 15 January, 2016 to register their preferences.

Councillor Claire Darke, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: "Parents or guardians of children who are due to start school next autumn should by now have received information on making an application, and I'd urge them to set aside time now to think carefully about which school they'd prefer their child to attend.

"This is one of the most important decisions you will make for your child's future. The application process is straightforward and should only take a few minutes to complete.

"It's important that you get your applications in by the deadline of 15 January, 2016, as applying after this time could have a detrimental effect on your chances of securing a place at one of your preferred schools."
