The council is now at the stage of resurfacing the streets where work has been completed.

A road closure will be in force on Market Street between 7pm and 6am on the nights of Monday 12 October to Thursday 15 October, and Monday 19 October to Thursday 22 October.

There will be no access to Market Street for any vehicles during these periods and there will be limited access to Tower Street and Castle Street as the junctions with Market Street will be closed.

A temporary taxi rank in Princess Street will be available on the nights of the closures in Market Street.

In order to support businesses in Queen Street access during the evenings will be available via Bilston Street and Dudley Street for the majority of the time.

During the daytime access to Market Street will return to normal but there may be a temporary road surface on some days.

Tim Johnson, Strategic Director: Place, said: "We are deliberately carrying these works out during weekday nights to minimise disruption in general and lessen any impact on the city centre's evening economy.

"We are nearing the end of the Public Realm improvements works, which play an important part in the wider multi-million pound regeneration of Wolverhampton.

"We have notified businesses via letter to explain the improvement work, which will support the city centre's vibrancy in the future."
