Wolverhampton Mayor Councillor Milkinder Jaspal is planning a flipping great event in aid of good causes.

He will be hosting a Pancake Day Celebration in the Mayor's Parlour on Shrove Tuesday 4 March, 2014 - with all proceeds going to his chosen charities.

Tickets are £4 per person which includes traditional pancakes and a cup of tea or coffee. Tombola prizes will also be up for grabs at the event which runs from 10.30am to 12pm.

All proceeds will go to Mayor Councillor Jaspal's charities for his year in office which are Guide Dogs, St Peter's Collegiate Church and the Black Country branch of the MS Society.

He said: "This is a great chance to tuck into some delicious pancakes - and they will taste even better in the knowledge that you'll be raising much-needed funds for 3 very good causes."

For more information and to reserve tickets, which are available now, please call the Mayor's Office on 01902 554090 or e-mail mayoral@wolverhampton.gov.uk

Meanwhile, Mayor Councillor Jaspal is appealing for raffle and tombola prizes to help raise money for charity.

He said: "Thanks to the kindness of the people of Wolverhampton, we have raised a lot of money for local good causes by raffling off prizes at many of our charity events, but we rely on donations of good quality items that we can give away."

Anyone who wants to donate any unwanted and unused gift items, in their original packaging, can do so by calling the Mayor's office on 01902 554090 or emailing themayor@wolverhampton.gov.uk.
