Scores of jobs and training opportunities in Wolverhampton will be on offer at a special event next week.

The Spring Jobs Fair, which has been organised by Wolverhampton City Council, University of Wolverhampton, Department of Work and Pensions and the Wolverhampton Employability Partnership, will be held at Molineux Stadium on Wednesday 14 May from 9.30am to 2pm.

The event is sponsored by the University of Wolverhampton KEEN project and Angel Springs.

More than 30 employers from across Wolverhampton will be at the event to showcase the career opportunities available to city jobseekers.

These include Angel Springs, Sainsbury's, Carillion, Wolverhampton Homes, McDonalds, Eurofins and National Express.

A number of education and training providers will also be at the event to enable people to find out about courses that can help them gain skills to increase their future career prospects.

Officers from the council's own recruitment agency YOO Recruit, which pays workers a minimum of £7.45 per hour, will also be there giving details about the service.

Tim Johnson, Wolverhampton City Council's Strategic Director for Education and Enterprise, said: "This is an excellent opportunity for people looking for work, a change of career or thinking of taking up training or education courses.

"One of our key aims is to regenerate the city and improve the prosperity of businesses and residents here and this event supports that."

The event is open to all and booking is not required.
