The beautiful countryside of Northycote Farm will be inspiring people to do their bit for conservation shortly.

A seed gathering event celebrating Northycote's wildflowers and grasses is being held on Sunday 11 August, 2013 - and visitors will be encouraged to harvest seeds from the site.

Ian Nicholls, Northycote Farm manager, said: "By gathering and sowing wildflower and grass seeds, you could help to protect the habitat of many local species, creating a sustainable environment for butterflies and other creatures of the countryside too.

"You don't need to have done this before, so don't worry if you don't know very much about wildflowers and grasses as our countryside rangers will be on hand to tell you everything you need to know."

The free event runs from 11am to 1pm and is suitable for families. Places should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment - to find out more, please call Northycote Farm on 01902 397906.
