The Mayor of Hejian City led a 9 strong party on a fact finding mission to the city.

They were welcomed to the Civic Centre by Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for City Economy.

Hejian City Mayor, Mr Weijiang Yin, said: "We were keen to visit Wolverhampton and explore its history as a city seated at the heart of the Industrial Revolution.

"It has been an exciting trip and we have enjoyed our time in the city - Councillor Reynolds and the council officers have been most welcoming. We have been really impressed by historic Wolverhampton and I can see great potential for our 2 cities possibly working together in the future.

"We will hopefully be sending further delegations in the New Year."

Councillor Reynolds added: "We are honoured the delegation chose Wolverhampton to visit.

"It is not the first delegation from China to have visited us this year and it again gave us the opportunity to demonstrate the work behind the extensive regeneration taking place and our ambitions for the city."
