Aldersley Leisure Village is hosting a family fun day in aid of children's charities this weekend - and new mums and dads are being invited to join their little ones in a sponsored slingathon.

The Sling Swing fun day, organised by the group of the same name who recently auditioned for Britain's Got Talent, takes place on Saturday (10 May, 2014) and promises a host of attractions for all ages.

They include children's rides, a bouncy castle, magician and a range of activities including baby yoga, massage and music. Stalls will be selling handmade gifts, cakes and sweets and local musicians and theatre groups will be performing throughout.

One of the highlights will be the sponsored slingathon, a fun and funky dance for parents and little ones in their slings or baby carriers.

All proceeds will go to New Cross Neo-natal Unit, Birmingham Children's Hospital, Sands Wolverhampton and Wolverhampton National Childbirth Trust.

Carly Birchell, who is organising Saturday's event, said: "We'd like to invite as many people as possible to join us at the fun day on Saturday, and help us raise as much money as possible for some very good causes.

"And we'd love for new mums and dads to join us for the sponsored slingathon, which will be fantastic fun for them and their little ones."

The Sling Swing fun day takes place at Aldersley Leisure Village from 11am to 3pm and entry is £1 per person - under 10s go free.
