The annual 'Get Home Safe' initiative will give visitors the opportunity to go to the Epic Youth Café, in Lichfield Street, to access taxi services and get a free hot drink.

It will be launched on Saturday (30 November), operating from 11pm to 4am, and will be open on 6, 7, 13, 14, 20, 21, 27 and 28 December.

This is the sixth campaign of this kind that has been held in the city centre since the initiative was launched in 2008.

Councillor John Reynolds, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for City Services, said: "The aim of 'Get Home Safe' is to ensure that, after people have had a great night out, they have a warm place where they can call for a cab home.

"The base will be fully staffed on the dedicated nights and people will also be able to get water or a hot drink while they wait for their taxis.

"Every year, the scheme proves very popular amongst visitors to the city centre and helps ensure that their whole experience of a night out in Wolverhampton is a very enjoyable and safe one."

This initiative will support the existing popular taxi marshal service, which operates from Bilston Street on Friday and Saturday evenings.
