Thousands of people are expected to flock to the event at West Park on Saturday 17 August, 2013, from 10am to 6pm.
Among the highlights will be appearances from children's TV favourites Fireman Sam, Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and Hello Kitty, as well as a wide range of activities and events for older children including football competitions organised by the Wolves Kickz project.
Visitors will be able to test their aim in the laser dome or paintball range, try out the inflatable assault course, bungee run, bouncy castles and bucking bronco, enjoy a leisurely pony ride or have their face painted.
Meanwhile, West Park will be turned into a living museum thanks to the Wolverhampton Branch of the Parachute Regiment who will be showing off more than 10 vehicles used during the Second World War, including a Scammel Pioneer, 1942 Jeep, Leyland Hippo, an armoured car and motorcycles and sidecars.
Veterans that served in Normandy, Arnhem, Italy, North Africa, Palestine and at the Rhine Crossing will be on hand to talk about their experiences and share their memories.
The timed programme of entertainment includes a performance by dance and drama troupe Oasis of Love at 11am and appearances by In the Night Garden stars Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka at noon and Fireman Sam and Hello Kitty at 1pm.
Singer Priscilla Cameron will be on stage at 2pm and there will be a dance performance from All Nations Christian Centre's Frontline Generation at 3pm. Solo artist Sean Flood appears at 4pm, guitarist and vocalist James Attwood follows at 4.25pm, before local guitarist Lauren Skitt performs at 4.45pm. Five-piece Coconut Backlash will round things off at 5.05pm while Signal 107 will be broadcasting live throughout the day.
There will be a variety of craft and refreshment stalls, while some great prizes are on offer in raffles and tombolas in aid of Compton Hospice and the Parachute Regiment (Wolverhampton Branch).
PC Joe Trusselle, who has helped organise the event, said: "This will be our fourth fun day and it's getting bigger and bigger each year. Last time we had more than 2,500 visitors and we're hoping for another great turnout on 17 August."
Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "This promises to be a great day out for the whole family and a wonderful way to spend a summer's day in Wolverhampton's premier park."
