The historic house and park is hosting the 1 day show to champion the Victorian glories of engineering as well as the digital revolution and investment in the city - thanks to the likes of Jaguar Land Rover.

Engineering Day is on Saturday 4 July as part of Wolverhampton Visitor Week, which encourages people to discover more about the city and what it has to offer.

GKN will be there to talk to school leavers and students about apprenticeships and careers available to them in the world of engineering.

Also during the day experts from The Royal Engineers will be on hand to demonstrate the many different specialist construction jobs and opportunities available in the British Army from Combat Engineers to Plant Operators.

Edwardian vehicles, Showman's Traction Engines, a Vintage Turner Tractor, a Tiger Cub Microlight aircraft and a selection of vintage cars will go on show in the grounds of the historic house and park off Finchfield Road.

The Royal Engineers and the Vintage Sports Car Club are helping organise the free event, which starts at 10am and ends at 4.30pm.

Councillor John Reynolds, cabinet member for city economy at Wolverhampton City Council, said: "The event celebrates the city's past and present engineering achievements and fits in well with what Visitor Week has to offer.

"The aim of the week is to encourage more people to visit or discover the great places and things to do in our city."

Free tours of venues are also on offer during the week including at Bantock House, the Grand Theatre, Light House Cinema and City Archives.
