Wolverhampton City Council has organised a briefing session for prospective candidates and their agents in the forthcoming local and European elections.

The event will take place in the council chamber in the civic centre on 27 March, starting at 6.30pm.

David Garner, the council's electoral services manager, said: "The aim of the session is to provide an overview of the election process, recent changes in legislation and answer questions candidates or agents might have with regard to the elections which will take place on 22 May.

"The returning officer and members of the elections team will be in attendance.

"Our election information guide, nomination packs and the Electoral Commission's candidate and agents guides will be available along with request forms for registers and absent vote lists."

Any candidate or agent who is unable to attend the session but would like to obtain the above documents can contact the elections team, after 27 March, on 01902 555050.
