Bert Williams Leisure Centre promises Double Trouble when it launches a new swimming session - where the objective is to keep out of the water, not in it.

Young people aged 8 to 16 are being invited to take on the challenge posed by a 12 metre long inflatable obstacle course, nicknamed Double Trouble, in the new Aqua Run sessions.

Competitors must jump, crawl and slide from one end of the course to the other - without falling into the water below. And with two lanes, young people can also race against a friend.

There will be 4, 1 hour long Aqua Run sessions at Bert Williams Leisure Centre during the Easter holidays; on Wednesday 16 April from 12.45pm to 1.45pm and 2.15pm to 3.15pm, and Wednesday 23 April, again from 12.45pm to 1.45pm and 2.15pm to 3.15pm.

Sessions cost £3.50 each and should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment by calling 01902 552430.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "We want to make a visit to our leisure centres as much fun as possible - and the Aqua Run promises to be a great laugh for young swimmers. I'm hoping that they'll really enjoy the challenge."

For safety reasons, children wishing to take part in the Aqua Run sessions must be 8 years and over, be able to swim 25m using a recognisable swimming stroke and be able to tread water for at least 2 minutes. A short test will be carried out before the start of each session to ensure those taking part can do so safely.

Please note that public swimming sessions at Bert Williams Leisure Centre will not be available on Wednesday 16 and 23 April, 2014, from 12.30pm to3.30pm while the Aqua Run takes place. Customers are advised that Central Baths will be open as usual during these times.
