Bilston Craft Gallery hosts its annual summer Garden Party next week - with people invited to mark the 100th anniversary of the First World War through special activities.

Visitors can make a medal, create poppies and even "grow their own" with a compostable pot.

There will also be storytelling, face painting and the chance for people to add to the craft gallery's giant string of bunting. Craftplay will be open and refreshments will be available from cafe Metro.

The garden party takes place on Wednesday 13 August, 2014, from 2pm to 5pm and entry is free.

Councillor Elias Mattu, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure and Communities, said: "Bilston Craft Gallery's annual garden party is always a great afternoon out for all the family, and this year's event will also give people the chance to commemorate the outbreak of the First World War."
