The chance to work in social care services in Wolverhampton will be promoted at a major care event in London next week.

The City of Wolverhampton Council will be attending Community Care Live, the UK's largest free social work event.

The council is joining over 50 other exhibitors including local authorities, voluntary organisations, adult and children's social care providers, universities, book sellers and charities.

Councillor Val Gibson, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: "We are exhibiting at this event to promote the opportunities there are to work in social care within adult and children's services and to tell people a little bit more about Wolverhampton.

"We will be taking a number of vacancies we have with us and encouraging people to apply for roles."

Representatives including social workers, managers and human resources advisors from the City of Wolverhampton Council will be available at stand 8 to talk about the roles, their experiences of working in Wolverhampton, the recruitment process and the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment programme.

Community Care Live takes place at The Business Design Centre in Islington on Tuesday and Wednesday, 26 and 27 September. It offers essential learning and training to all registered social workers, council commissioners and workforce leads.
