Christmas comes early to Central Library with an afternoon of festive fun and games for younger visitors.

It is holding Christmas Crackers on Thursday 22 December, featuring Christmas story telling and crafts, a magic show and balloon making, and carol singing with the City of Wolverhampton Council Choir.

There will also be the chance to win a family ticket to see this year's big pantomime, Aladdin, courtesy of the Grand Theatre by taking part in a wordsearch competition.

Christmas Crackers begins at 2.15pm and finishes with refreshments at 4.30pm. Entry and activities are free.

Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "This is a great opportunity for families to get Christmassy with some festive fun and games.

"If you can't make it along on the day, don't forget that our libraries offer a wide range of Christmas books for readers of all ages to help you get into the festive spirit."
