Hundreds of people turned out to support the annual event, held at the Wulfrun Hall on 2 November, and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the city's war heroes through an afternoon of music and remembrance.
The Festival supported The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal and Help for Heroes and both organisations were this week presented with cheques for £1,010 each, the proceeds from the day, by the Mayor of Wolverhampton Councillor Mike Heap.
Councillor Linda Leach, Chair of the Wolverhampton Festival of Remembrance Committee, said: "Last year's Festival of Remembrance was one of our biggest so far, and I am delighted that we were able to raise more than £2,000 for 2 very good causes.
"We had tremendous support from the people of Wolverhampton for the Festival, which was particularly fitting as it marked 100 years since the outbreak of the First World War.
"On behalf of the committee, I'd like to thank everyone who played a part in it, from the performers and Standard Bearers to the veterans themselves who were among the 400 strong audience."
- In total, The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal received £2,342.27 with additional funds coming from a collection at the Mander Centre and an event organised by S. Peter's Collegiate Church of England School in which pupils made and sold poppies to other students and staff.
