The Mayor of Wolverhampton is hosting a celebration to mark St Patrick's Day on Monday 17 March, 2014.

Councillor Milkinder Jaspal is inviting people to join him for Irish food and entertainment - and raise money for his 3 chosen charities, Guide Dogs, St Peter's Collegiate Church and the Black Country branch of the MS Society.

He said: "Thousands of people across Ireland and the UK celebrate St Patrick's Day, so why not come along to the Mayoral Suite and join in the fun?

"We'll be tucking into a full Irish breakfast and enjoying some traditional Irish entertainment, and there'll also be raffle prizes up for grabs."

The breakfast begins at 10am and tickets, priced £8 per person, are available now from the Mayor's Office by calling 01902 554090 or e-mailing mayoral@wolverhampton.gov.uk. Please book early for this popular event.

Meanwhile, Mayor Councillor Jaspal is appealing for raffle and tombola prizes to help raise money for charity.

He said: "Thanks to the kindness of the people of Wolverhampton, we have raised a lot of money for local good causes by raffling off prizes at many of our charity events, but we rely on donations of good quality items that we can give away."

Anyone who wants to donate any unwanted and unused gift items, in their original packaging, can do so by calling the Mayor's office on 01902 554090 or emailing themayor@wolverhampton.gov.uk.
