The Chinese Britain Business Council held its 'China Masterclass' at Molineux on Thursday (23 January), which provided companies with information on advanced engineering in the country.

Market and industry experts from China gave a number of presentations to delegates who attended the event, which was supported by Wolverhampton City Council.

This included advice to SMEs on market entry and establishing a foothold, current trading environments in Chinese cities and existing business opportunities.

Delegates were also given the chance to hold one to one meetings with market experts.

Councillor Peter Bilson, Wolverhampton City Council's Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration, said: "This was an excellent opportunity for companies to get insightful knowledge on getting a start in one of the world's biggest economies.

"All businesses want to grow and exporting their goods and services overseas is the best way to do this.

"Getting a foothold into these markets can be extremely difficult but this event gave the attendees a lot of useful intelligence about how links can be established.

"We are pleased to support this event and help our businesses here in Wolverhampton prosper on the international market."
