Bookworms can get their hands on ex-library stock at a special sale taking place at Bantock House Museum this weekend.

The City of Wolverhampton Council will be selling off a range of 'pre-loved' books which have been withdrawn from circulation to make way for new stock in Wolverhampton's 16-strong library network - with prices starting from just 25p.

Councillor John Reynolds, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for City Economy, said: "We aim to ensure our libraries carry a wide range of titles, including the latest publications.

"With around 200 new books published every day in the UK there is always pressure on space on our shelves, and so from time to time we need to withdraw old titles from circulation.

"These tend to be books which haven't been loaned for a long period of time, or which have been updated with new editions.

"All of our libraries have a small selection of withdrawn stock for sale, but we wanted to bring them together and reach a wider audience through this special sale at Bantock House Museum which will offer people a great chance to pick up a bargain or two."

The sale takes place at Bantock House Museum on Saturday (4 November, 2017) from 10am to 3pm. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested into the library service, including the purchase of the latest titles.
