Visitors to City of Wolverhampton Civic Halls events can now pre order their food and drinks - or order direct from their seats - thanks to a new app.

The 'Wolves Civic' combined mobile app, powered by Preoday, is available to download from Google Play and the App Store.

The service will be in action for the first time at tomorrow (Tuesday) night's John Bishop - Winging It show.

The Civic Hall and its sister venue, the Wulfrun Hall, are major hubs for live entertainment in the city.

Visitors to gigs, comedy nights and sporting events can use the app to order drinks and snacks for quick collection during show intervals.

Users will no longer have to queue, select and pay on site, instead they can spend the interval relaxing with friends and family.

Refreshments can also be pre ordered for collection in the hour before a show begins.

Customers using the app must accept the push notifications on their device so they can be informed when their order is ready.

The collection points at the venue are the main bar, balcony bars and, when the Wulfrun Hall is in use, the Wulfrun bar.

City of Wolverhampton Council Cabinet Member for City Economy, Councillor John Reynolds, said: "We are privileged to host some of the best music and arts acts in the world.

"With thousands of people on site, the queue for refreshments can naturally grow quite long.

"Our new app negates the need to queue at all, meaning the guest's event experience is noticeably enhanced.

"We look forward to feedback from users who, we are sure, will love the new service."

Andrew White, CEO of Preoday, added: "Preoday is excited to add Wolverhampton Civic Hall and Wulfrun Hall to the growing list of venues it is proud to call clients.

"There are some fabulous acts booked to appear at the venues between now and Christmas such as John Bishop. These are events that draw huge audiences, and those attending will benefit greatly from pre-ordering.

"What people want to remember about their experience is the atmosphere, the company and the act, not the waiting in line."
