People are being invited to hop on board the Health Bus and get some top tips to improve their health and wellbeing.

The Health Bus will be touring Wolverhampton shortly, providing expert help and advice about keeping well this winter.

Members of the City of Wolverhampton Council's Healthy Lifestyle Service will be offering free Health Checks, including BMI and blood pressure tests and lifestyle advice.

There will also be information about diabetes, stopping smoking, the Walking for Health programme, Sugar Swaps and drug and alcohol services, and details of the Affordable Warmth Grant which is available to individuals and families who meet certain criteria.

The Health Bus will be calling at the following locations:

  • Asda, Wolverhampton, Saturday 28 January, 10am to 4pm

  • Queen Square, Wolverhampton, Friday 3 February, 10am to 4pm

  • Co-operative, Kempthorne Avenue, Bushbury, Saturday 4 February, 10am to 12.30pm

  • Sainsbury's, Wolverhampton, Saturday 4 February, 1pm to 4pm

  • Aldi, Goldthorn Hill, Saturday 11 February, 9am to 11am

  • Waitrose, Wolverhampton, Saturday 11 February, 11.30am to 1.30pm

  • Brodie Close, off Dudley Road, Blakenhall, Saturday 11 February, 2pm to 4pm

Councillor Paul Sweet, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, said: "I would urge residents to hop aboard the Health Bus and meet professionals who will be on hand to offer free information and advice to help people stay well, especially during the winter months."

He added: "I'd like to thank the businesses who are supporting us by hosting the Health Bus for us throughout its time in Wolverhampton."
