As a Private Hire Vehicle Operator, you can complete our online webform to renew your licence with us.

From 4 April 2022, for renewal applications or new applications where you have held a similar licence within the last 12 months, you will need to confirm you have completed a tax check and provide the 9 character Tax Check Code as part of the application process.

Complete a tax check for a taxi, private hire or scrap metal licence.

You will be emailed 1 month before your Operator's Licence is due to expire advising you how to submit your renewal application. Your renewal application should be submitted via email 10 working days prior to the expiry of your Licence. However, if you have not received or cannot find your email, then please complete the web form below.

Please note: you will need to obtain a new Basic DBS Certificate prior to submitting your renewal application, so please allow for this before completing the renewal webform. You can obtain a new one by visiting Request a Basic DBS Certificate at Gov.uk. If you already hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate, you may upload evidence of this instead of a Basic DBS Certificate.

From 4 April 2022, you must confirm you are aware of your tax responsibilities if you are an individual, company or any type of partnership. You can find out further information on HMRC Tax Check and follow the tax check guidance at Gov.uk.

You will need to provide a HMRC Tax Check Code as part of your renewal application - you can obtain a tax code at Gov.uk.

Once your renewal application has been received and processed, a member of the Taxi Licensing team will be in contact for you to make secure credit or debit payment over the telephone.

Providing your application form and payment have been received and subject to a clear DBS status, your licence will be granted.

IMPORTANT: Please be aware that you must renew your licence prior to the expiry date otherwise Wolverhampton licensed vehicles cannot be operated by you once the licence has expired.
