Licensing Committee agreed that all driver must have attended a safeguarding training session before their private hire licence is renewed.

The following resolution was made at the City of Wolverhampton Council Licensing Committee meeting on 12th July 2017.

All drivers will have had to have attended a Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE)/Safeguarding course by the time of their next badge renewal. This CSE awareness training is mandatory for all private hire licence holders and that all current drivers, who have not yet undertaken the training, must undertake the training within one year of the date of the decision of the Licensing Committee. Should a driver fail to do so their badge will not be renewed.

If you have attended the Worcestershire County Council driver training programme since 25th September 2015, this includes the CSE module and you will not be required to attend the safeguarding course.

The Mandatory training is provided free of charge and there are four sessions per day at 9.00am, 11.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm and they are available on a drop-in basis. The next date available is 20 February 2020 at Bilston Creche.
