Guidance on how to use the libraries Controlled Browsing & Select and Collect service during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Wolverhampton Central, Finchfield, Tettenhall, Bilston, Warstones and Wednesfield Libraries are now available for controlled browsing and customer use with limited capacity. Capacity is limited to enable social distancing and ensure the safety of staff and customers, and therefore people are required to book a 30-minute session in advance by call 01902 552025.

Customers must be a member of the library service to book a session and must also wear face coverings indoors in line with national guidelines unless they are exempt.

Reservations can be made online or by calling the libraries.

Controlled browsing is available at the following locations/times:

  • Central Library - (01902 552025):
    • Monday to Friday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

  • Finchfield - (01902 556260):
    • Tuesday 10am–3:30pm
    • Thursday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

  • Tettenhall - (01902 556308):
    • Monday 10am–3:30pm
    • Wednesday 10am–3:30pm
    • Friday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

  • Bilston - (01902 556253):
    • Tuesday to Friday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

  • Warstones - (01902 556275):
    • Monday to Friday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

  • Wednesfield - (01902 556278):
    • Monday to Friday 10am–3:30pm
    • Saturday 10am–2pm

Customers can continue to use the “Select and Collect” service at the above named libraries, which enables library members to pre-order titles online, by emailing libraries@wolverhampton.gov.uk or by calling 01902 552025.

From Tuesday 4th May, Select and Collect will be extended to East Park, Whitmore Reans, Low Hill and Springvale Libraries. Opening times as follows:

  • East Park every Tuesday morning 10-1pm from May 4th
  • Whitmore Reans every Wednesday afternoon 1-4pm from May 5th
  • Low Hill every Thursday afternoon 1-4pm from May 6th
  • Spring Vale every Friday morning 10-1pm from May 7th

Returned items will be quarantined for 72 hours, in line with guidance, therefore loans will remain on your account until after this period.
