Wood End Primary School are looking to appoint, a reliable, professional and practical person to the position of Caretaker at our school.
You will support our school in providing a safe, well maintained, compliant, effective and efficient learning environment.
General caretaking duties will include opening and closing the school building, repair and maintenance work, statutory and compliance activity including general premises Health and Safety duties, liaising with contractors and attending emergency call outs. Duties will also include ensuring a high standard of cleanliness throughout the school and that security is maintained at all times to support and safeguard the welfare of all persons using the school premises.
You will need to be fit and able to cope with the physical demands of the job, have good communication skills and be ready to deal with a variety of situations. Our Caretaker will need to work flexibly at all times and may on occasion be required to work evenings, weekends or bank holidays. There will also be a requirement to undertake training appropriate to the post.
Previous experience of caretaking or security, Health and Safety legislation, minor repair and maintenance work and working on a school site would be desirable but isn’t essential as full training will be given.
At interview, candidates will be asked for photo identification and proof of qualifications.
