NHS Health Checks

Having a free NHS Heath Check can help you prevent developing type 2 diabetes, heart disease, kidney disease, stroke and dementia by spotting any early signs.

As we get older, we have a higher risk of developing these conditions which is why the NHS Health Check is offered to adults aged 40 - 74 without a pre-existing condition.

What happens at the check?

  • You'll be asked some simple questions about your lifestyle, your family history and any medication you are currently taking.
  • Routine health tests include your cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and weight.
  • The check will take about 20-30 minutes.

After your Health Check we will discuss how we can support you to reduce your risk and stay healthy.
