This is a free city wide service to help get small odd jobs and repairs done. Eligibility criteria applies.
The Handyperson Service is provided by the City of Wolverhampton Council under its Home Improvement Service (WHIS).
For additional information regarding grants and loans that may be available for essential maintenance and to remove hazards from the home WHIS may be able to assist you.
Who can use the service
You qualify for the Handyperson Service if you:
- are a resident of Wolverhampton and
- are aged over 60 and
- are on income related benefits and
- you are an owner occupier
We may also be able to help if you:
- receive DLA/PIP or ESA and
- are on income related benefits and
- you are an owner occupier
What the service offers
Some examples of how the service can help are:
- fitting draft proofing
- repositioning furniture for easier access
- fitting stair rails or changing fittings
- fixing loose cables, floorboards and carpets
- improving security on your doors and windows
- small plumbing jobs
