Leaving large quantities of food out for the birds on the streets, grass verges or parks in Wolverhampton is strongly discouraged.

Food that is not eaten straight away can attract rats into the area or become mouldy and this can make the birds ill.

It also makes the area look untidy and can blow around in the wind. Other animals, such as dogs, can also eat mouldy food on the ground which can make them ill.

A littering Fixed Penalty Notice of £100 may be issued to anyone that is witnessed leaving large amounts of food for the birds in public spaces.
