Key Dates

  • Online Applications Open: 10 September 2026 (for Year 7 places in September 2027)
  • Deadline: 31 October 2026 (for Year 7 places in September 2027)
  • Allocation Day: 1 March 2027, you can find out which school your child has been offered

You will need to apply if your child is:

  • Starting secondary school in Year 7 in September 2027
  • Moving from a Middle School to a Secondary School (Year 8 or Year 9)

  • Apply online - Citizen Portal - Sign in
  • Apply through your home Local Authority, even if you want a school in a different council area


Choosing Schools

  • You can list up to five schools as your preferences.
  • Wolverhampton schools are popular, so use all five preferences if possible.

Supplementary Information Form 

If you are applying to any of these schools, you must also fill out a Supplementary Information Form and send it directly to the school:

  • Our Lady and St Chad Catholic Academy
  • St Edmund's Catholic Academy
  • St Peter's Collegiate School
  • St Regis Church of England Academy
  • The Royal School, Wolverhampton

  • Each school has its own admissions policy, explaining how places are allocated if there are more applicants than places. You can find these policies on each school’s website.

Checking Your School Offer

  • If you applied online,  check your child’s school allocation on the web portal from March 1, 2027.
  • You will also receive an email confirming your child’s school place.
