If anyone contacts you direct offering money this is not legitimate, the only way to apply for the fund is to contact the council direct as outlined below.

With the rising cost of living and energy prices, the Crisis and Resilience Fund is available to provide a safety net and enable access needs led support to build financial resilience for the resident of Wolverhampton.

Crisis support is intended to prevent the occurrence or escalation of individuals’ crises. By offering timely, needs-based assistance to those facing financial shocks, we hope to help residents when they need it most.

To make application for crisis support you will need to provide:

  • Current Bank Statement – to support income and expenditure review 
  • Council Tax Letter - to confirm residency

To make application for crisis support for energy you will also need to provide:

  • Evidence of energy provider and details

To make application wider essential you will also need to provide:

  • Evidence of need and position

  • Awards are needs based 
  • All applicants will be referred for wider financial wellbeing support
  • Awards for Food are based on:
    • Single Adult: £25.00
    • Couple: £50.00
    • Addition for each child in household: £15.00
  • Awards for Fuel are based on:
    • Single Adult: £40.00
    • Couple: £60.00
    • Addition for each child in household: £15.00
