Based in Wolverhampton, Gabitie Group Limited is a key player in the structural and architectural steel fabrication industry. Established in 2012 under Managing Director Grant Bond, the company has built a strong reputation for high-quality workmanship and innovative solutions.

We have supported them over a number of years attending several workshops, securing an AIM for GOLD grants, and most latterly securing this £15,000 grant to continue their growth.

Gabitie specializes in a wide range of steel products, including staircases, mezzanine floors, security gates, and bespoke architectural fabrications. With over 15 years of experience, the company continues to deliver outstanding services such as installation, welding, delivery, and finishing.

To support its growth, Gabitie Group worked with the City Council’s Business Growth Team to secure a UKSPF SME grant of £15,000 toward a total investment £31,518. The grant has enabled the company to invest in a laser cutter and a standing seam cladding cold rolling machine, improving operational efficiency, expanding service offerings, and enhancing its market competitiveness.

Before securing the grant, Gabitie faced limitations in diversifying its services and entering new markets. Outsourcing materials and processes led to higher costs, limited flexibility, and increased vulnerability to supply chain disruptions. These challenges restricted Gabitie’s ability to capitalize on growing demand for laser-cut metal parts and standing seam cladding.
With support from the Council’s Business Growth Team, Gabitie developed a strong business case for investment. The company expressed how the grant would address inefficiencies, enable market expansion, and support long-term growth.

These state-of-the-art machines allow Gabitie to reduce dependency on external suppliers, enhance production speed and precision, expand their service offerings with products like laser-cut templates, architectural cladding, and garden office components and enter lucrative new markets, such as domestic extensions and cladding installation.

The investment also enables Gabitie Group to reduce its carbon footprint by in-sourcing production, lowering transportation costs, and optimizing resource use.

“This investment supports our strategy for long-term growth and innovation,” added Grant Bond, Managing Director of Gabitie Group Limited. “By working with the City Council’s Business Growth Team, we’ve been able to overcome key operational challenges and position the company for a more competitive future. The new machinery will not only help us improve efficiency but also allow us to diversify our offerings and attract a broader customer base.”

Gabitie expects the new machinery to boost operational efficiency, with a projected turnover increase of £60,000–£100,000 in the first year. The investment will also create employment. Future plans include scaling production, expanding their product range, and entering new markets, particularly in domestic extensions and standing seam cladding. By addressing critical bottlenecks and improving production capabilities, Gabitie Group is well-positioned to strengthen its market presence and drive sustainable growth.
