The West Midlands Business Festival is a brand-new initiative by Business Growth West Midlands. It will showcase the region as a fantastic place to work, live and do business – and will bring the local business community together for two-weeks of inspiration, innovation, learning, sharing, showcasing and networking.
Taking place from Monday 3 - Friday 14 March 2025, the festival includes an exciting programme of free events put on by business for business. These events promote growth, collaboration and skills development.
The City Council are partners in delivering two of these events
Celebrating Women in Business event
On the 11th March we are partnering with Access to Business to host a “Celebrating Women in Business event” that will include:
- Inspirational stories from successful female entrepreneurs
- A spotlight on local social enterprise companies, led by women and making a huge impact in the region and beyond
- Information about business support services and networking events available for start-ups and SMEs
- Information on training and learning opportunities to support your business growth and upskill your workforce
- Information on how to access local procurement opportunities, including through local Accelerate programmes with Natwest and Aston University
- The opportunity to network and be inspired by other like-minded female entrepreneurs and business owners
Sustainability and Circular Economy Workshop
On the 13th March there is the “Sustainability and Circular Economy Workshop” that will demonstrate that sustainable interventions can also be cost saving interventions that benefit profitability and the overall business strategy of an organisation.
Attendees will hear from the Wolverhampton-based All Saints Action Network (ASAN) about how its Reuse Hub and Wood Saints initiatives are helping the construction sector to minimise waste, maximise resource use and reduce carbon emission; and from Christian Byron at the Aston Centre for Growth covering their sustainability. Also speaking will be Dominic Grosvenor of Barr & Grosvenor Ltd, a Wolverhampton iron foundry that was recently featured on the television programme Heritage Rescue, presented by Nick Knowles, for its use of recycled materials in its regeneration projects and restoration of historical, architectural iron structures
Here you will find details of all 50 plus events being held during the West Midlands Business Festival.
