What is the EU settlement scheme?
If you are a citizen of a country within the European Union, Norway, Iceland, Switzerland or Lichtenstein, and you wish to continue to live, work or study in the UK after June 2021; you will need to apply for settled or pre-settled status in the UK via the government’s EU settlement scheme’s app.
This service is available to resident citizens with a valid biometric passport, and to their non-EU citizen family members with a biometric UK residence card issued.
As part of the application process, you need to scan your ID on your phone or device.
How does the ID scanning service work?
If you do not have access to an Android device with near field communication (NFC), you can make an appointment to bring your passport or biometric residence card to us, where it can be scanned and verified for you. The purpose of the scan is to confirm your identity so that you will be able to make an application to the EU Settlement Scheme. You must not start your application before you attend your appointment.
If you are eligible to apply for settled status and wish to book an appointment to use the EU Settlement Service, please contact us on 01902 551234.
Appointments available:
Monday to Friday: 9.00am to 12:00pm
