Advice for pedestrians when around cyclists

  • If there is no pavement, walk on the right-hand side of the road, facing oncoming traffic
  • Make sure you are visible: wear light, preferably reflective clothing. On unlit paths or roads carry a torch
  • Be aware of children learning to cycle who may swerve unexpectedly
