Wolverhampton train services
Wolverhampton is located at the heart of Britain's railway network. The city is very well served by express, cross country and local services to all parts of the country.
Intercity and express services
125mph Pendolino train services operated by Virgin Trains were introduced in September 2004. These tilting trains offer an hourly service to and from London (Euston). The capital can now be reached from Wolverhampton in just under 2 hours - ideal for business, commuting and leisure.
A new platform and covered footbridge with lifts has been constructed at Wolverhampton train station as part of the modernisation and upgrading of the West Coast Main Line.
Virgin Trains also operate Super Voyager services between the Midlands and Scotland.
Wolverhampton is also served by Wrexham and Shropshire trains. Services connect Wolverhampton with Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Telford, Tame Bridge Parkway, Banbury and London Marylebone.
Cross country services
Wolverhampton is also well served by a regular Cross Country services. Destinations include Manchester, the South Coast and the South West of Britain.
These services are run by Arriva CrossCountry who provide connections at Birmingham New Street to services to North East, East Midlands, Stanstead and Cardiff.
Local services
Local train services are part of the Network West Midlands overseen by Centro, the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive.
Centro provides a detailed map of local train routes which includes Wolverhampton.
These services are operated by London Midland and Arriva Trains Wales.
