Listed below are bus lanes and bus gates in Wolverhampton together with vehicles permitted to use them and times of operation.

A41 Bilston Road Inbound

  • From Cullwick Street to Ettingshall Road
    • Tram and Buses only (cyclists use cycle track)
      • All day, every day.

A449 Stafford Street Inbound

  • From north of Moseley Street to Five Ways roundabout including bus gate and
  • From Five Ways junction with Foxes Lane to Ring Road
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • All day every day

A449 Stafford Street Outbound

  • From Wufruna Street to to Ring Road slip road and Cannock Road to Five Ways
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • All day every day.

A454 Willenhall Road Inbound

  • From Hurstbourne Crescent to Chillington Fields
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm.

A454 Willenhall Road Inbound

  • From Shakespeare Street to Ring Road including bus gate
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • All day,every day.

A454 Willenhall Road Outbound

  • From Hurstbourne Crescent to Deans Road
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm.

A459 Dudley Road Inbound

  • From Grove Street to Ring Road, Snow Hill
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • All day, every day.

A4124 Wednesfield Road Inbound

  • From Deans Road to  Inkerman Street
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm.
  • and from Inkerman Street to Lincoln Street (bus only street)
    • Buses only (cycles use cycle track)
      • All day,every day.

A4124 Wednesfield Road Outbound

  • From Woden Road to  Deans Road
    • Buses, hackney carriages and pedal cycles
      • Monday to Saturday 7am to 7pm

City Centre

  • Bus gates in Cleveland Street, Market Street, Fryer Street and Pipers Row
    • Buses and cycles only
      • All day, every day.
  • Bus gates in Darlington Street, Queen Square, Victoria Street, and Garrick Street
    • Buses, hackney carriages, private hire vehicles and cycles
      • All day, every day.

Bus lanes and the law

Signs and road markings for bus lanes are accordance with the Highway Code and the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The use of bus lanes is enforced by the West Midlands Police and illegal use can result in a road traffic offence and/or prosecution.
