Vine Island/Wobaston Road - Major Scheme Business Case
Location
Wobaston Road is a single two-lane carriageway road located to the north of Wolverhampton.
The road links the main A449 Stafford Road in Wolverhampton to the South Staffordshire towns of Codsall and Bilbrook, and Pendeford Business Park.
Wobaston Road also serves residential areas of next to the road.
Proposed Scheme
The proposed improvements to Wobaston Road are intended to support development growth in the area, including the i54 employment site, improve safety and provide pedestrian and cycle facilities.
Proposals
The proposed highway improvement to Wobaston Road is a major transport scheme identified in the West Midlands Local Transport Plan (LTP) 1, and a regional priority scheme that would underpin economic regeneration.

- Environmental impacts including improving air quality
- Improving accessibility
- Improving road safety
