Key Stage 1 road safety resources

We have a range of resources aimed specifically at Key Stage 1 children, which can be requested or loaned free of charge.

Resources

School Crossing Patrols

Arrange for one of our School Crossing Patrols to talk to children, explaining how they must behave when crossing the road with a patrol.  We have information leaflets for parents and stickers for children.

Activity Book One

From the Department for Transport, providing pupils with number of worksheets and activities relating to a wide range of road safety issues.

Roadways

A teaching pack with video and photocopiable worksheets giving children an understanding of the basic road safety messages of Stop, Look, Listen, safer places to play, holding hands and safer places to cross the road.

Road Safety Sequence Cards

These cards help children understand basic safe procedures for crossing the road.

What is Traffic?

The story line follows Charlie, his dog Max, and friend Paul on their journey to a birthday party and illustrates the importance of taking care.

Journey to the Bottom of our Road

Suitable for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. With the help of an alien purchased at a car boot sale the children are taught to identify safe road user behaviour.

Look out on the Road

This "Big Book" along with an accompanying set of ten child size books tells the story of a family on a journey, and shows how they stay safe in a variety of situations.
