M6 Jct 10 to 11 - Managed Motorway overnight closures 

Friday January 29 to Saturday March 12, 2010

The M6 through the West Midlands is currently being upgraded by the Highways Agency to allow the introduction of a Managed Motorway scheme including hard shoulder running and variable speed limits.

Part of the work requires either the northbound or southbound carriageway of the M6 to be closed between junctions 10 and 11 to allow the removal of existing gantries and the erection of new ones.

To allow the work to take place, a diversionary route via Wolverhampton will be used.

  • Friday January 29
  • Saturday January 30
  • Friday February 6
  • Saturday February 6
  • Friday February 12
  • Saturday February 13
  • Friday February 19
  • Saturday February 20
  • Friday February 26
  • Saturday February 27
  • Friday February 5
  • Saturday March 6
  • Friday March 12
  • Saturday March 13.

The Highways Agency may make unplanned closures on Mondays following Sunday closures.

Times

  • Fridays from 10pm to 8am Saturdays
  • Saturdays from 10pm to 10am Sundays
  • Mondays from  9.30pm to 5.30am Tuesdays.

Signed diversions will be in place as follows:

M6 southbound diversion

  • Exit M6 at Junction 11
  • Cannock Road (A460 southbound)
  • Join the M54 at Junction 1 (westbound)
  • Exit the M54 at Junction 2
  • Stafford Road (A449 southbound)
  • Stafford Street (A449 southbound)
  • Ring Road St. Patrick's (A4150 clockwise)
  • Ring Road St. David's (A4150 clockwise) 
  • Lower Horsley Fields (A454)
  • Willenhall Road (A454)
  • The Keyway (A454)
  • Black Country Route (A454 eastbound)
  • Rejoin M6 Junction 10.

  • Exit M6 Junction 10
  • Black Country Route (A454 westbound)
  • The Keyway (A454)
  • Willenhall Road (A454)

  • Ring Road St. David's (A4150 anti-clockwise)
  • Ring Road St. Patrick's (A4150 anti-clockwise)
  • Stafford Street (A449 northbound)
  • Stafford Road (A449 northbound)
  • Join the M54 at Junction 2 (eastbound)
  • Exit the M54 at Junction 1
  • Cannock Road (A460 northbound)
  • Rejoin M6 at Junction 11.
