Walls

Generally the walls and fences that surround property and fields are erected and
maintained by the land owner. These are erected to provide security and privacy, to mark boundaries between different landowners or to support a difference in ground levels (a "retaining wall").

The Council through the Transportation Network Management Service undertakes maintenance and repairs to walls that are owned by the local authority because they are part of the  highway.

To report a highway wall or fence in a state of disrepair please use one of the contact methods detailed on the following contact  page.

To report other wall considered to be in a dangerous condition, please use the contact us page for the Building Consultancy Service.
