Street lights and illuminated signs

There are over 28,000 streetlights and 4,000 illuminated signs and bollards managed, repaired and maintained by the City Council.

A statement of operational policy which details the manner in which these vital assets are managed and the standards that will be upheld in doing so is produced by the City Council and is reviewed annually.

The annual displays of Christmas lights in the Wolverhampton, Wednesfield, Bilston and Tettenhall shopping areas are also managed by the Council.

In an average year over 99% of street lights and illuminated signs are working at any one time.
