Street cleansing

The Council is responsible for keeping the area clean and free of litter.

Street cleaning programme

We aim to:

  • continuously clean town centres
  • clean main roads once a week
  • clean other roads daily, weekly, fortnightly and every four or eight weeks depending on their classification
  • empty litter bins the same time the street is cleaned.

 You can help us by:

  • being tidy with your litter and chewing gum.
  • using the free refuse tips
  • having waste collection contracts for your business.
  • not leaving your dogs mess for others.
  • not fly posting - its untidy and illegal.
  • not parking where you want us to clean.

If you would like to report a litter problem please contact us.
