Wolverhampton Council as Highway Authority has a duty to develop transport strategy for the City and is also responsible for the maintenance of all public roads, footways and footpaths in the City.

Public Transport:

The West Midlands Passenger Transport Authority (WMPTA) is charged with overseeing public transport development and operations in the West Midlands conurbation. WMPTA is made up of elected members from the seven Metropolitan District Councils including Wolverhampton. The day to day work is undertaken by the West Midlands Passenger Transport Executive (WMPTE) who operate under the name of Centro. Use the following links for further information:-
