The street sex trade in Wolverhampton

Street sex is the commercial exploitation predominately of women, for sex, which is offered, purchased and provided in public places.

It is believed that there are 45 active, persistent prostitutes working within the recognised vice area of Wolverhampton.

Arrests in Wolverhampton

Between 2003 and 2005, 65 males have been arrested for kerb-crawling offences: over 90 per cent of these have resulted in convictions.

These arrests together with the support of the local press in reporting them have had a substantial impact on the reduction of the numbers of kerb-crawling vehicles in the area and the number of prostitutes.
