Anti Social Behaviour Unit
Our Anti Social Behaviour Unit (ASBU) deals with complaints of anti social behaviour from residents, businesses and other agencies in Wolverhampton.
We work in partnership with a number of other agencies including:
The Unit was set up in January 2002, following the implementation of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 which defines anti social behaviour as:
"Behaviour which causes, or is likely to cause, harassment, alarm or distress to one or more persons, not of the same household as the perpetrator"
What do we do?
We have a responsibility to investigate and address incidents of anti social behaviour in Wolverhampton to ensure it is approached and tackled effectively.
Our work as part of the Safer Wolverhampton Partnership, recognises the importance of developing and implementing a partnership approach to tackle crime and disorder related issues.
What do we deal with?
We primarily deal with complaints relating to private tenants, but will also provide support and advice to council and housing association tenants using both legal and non-legal remedies.
For more information about dealing with anti social behaviour, including Anti Social Behaviour Orders (ASBO’s) and Acceptable Behaviour Contracts (ABC’s), visit the Directgov website.
