City of Wolverhampton Council has appointed contractor Taylor Woodrow to carry out essential repaving and maintenance work in Dudley Street.

This work will focus on the area between Queen Street and Bilston Street and will include the repaving of footways and carriageway with new and improved materials. There will also be re-kerbing around trees to allow room for growth.

During the repaving work, access to businesses will be maintained at all times.

Partial footway closures will be in place on a rolling basis and although repaving to central areas will require a road closure, we will discuss access arrangements with businesses before this takes place to support with deliveries.

Dudley Street market and street traders will be accommodated and trading will continue as normal.

The work is due to start from 29 January 2024 and is expected to take around six months to complete.

Hours of work will be from 7.30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, depending on daylight hours, with some weekend and night works scheduled as and when needed.
