City of Wolverhampton Council’s markets team has organised the special carol concerts, which will take place at Bilston, Wolverhampton and Wednesfield markets throughout December.
Pupils from Stowlawn Primary, Bilston CofE, St Teresa’s Catholic Primary, Villiers Primary, Dovecotes Primary, St Patrick’s Catholic Primary and St Andrew’s Primary will be performing for Christmas shoppers.
To help the young singers get to their performances, volunteers from the council’s passenger transport team will be picking up and dropping off the pupils to ensure safe journeys.
And to boost the seasonal feel, traders at all 3a markets have a range of festive treats available so customers can stock up on gifts and stocking fillers.
Councillor Craig Collingswood, cabinet member for environment and climate change at City of Wolverhampton Council, said: "Christmas gives us the perfect opportunity to organise events like this, where our young people can sing their hearts out and spread festive joy.
“The atmosphere in the markets when we have previously had the choirs is lovely; the children’s voices bring a smile to the faces of the shoppers who are buying their festive gifts, food and other items for loved ones.
“Our markets offer fantastic quality and value all year round, but the special carol concerts add the perfect soundtrack while people browse festive stock. They really help shoppers and traders alike to get into the spirit of the season.”
