The City of Wolverhampton Council will be holding a series of information sessions over the next 3 weeks to help parents and guardians complete their application forms for secondary school places.

The deadline to complete applications for places for students who are due to start Year 7 in September 2024 is Tuesday 31 October, 2023, and they should be submitted before this date.

To apply for a school place, parents and guardians can log on to School admissions and complete the short application process. Parents and guardians will be notified of their child’s allocated school place on 1 March, 2024.

Anyone who needs support is invited to attend one of the School Application Surgeries being held at the Civic Centre, St Peter's Square, Wolverhampton, WV1 1SH, from 10am to 2pm on Thursdays 12, 19 and 26 October.

Councillor Jacqui Coogan, the City of Wolverhampton Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, Skills and Work, said: “If your child is in their final year at primary or junior school, you should now be making your application for a secondary school place for them.

“While making the transfer to secondary school may seem a long way off, the closing date for applications is the end of this month, so time really is of the essence.

"Around 2 thirds of parents and guardians have completed their applications and if you need any help and support to do so, please come along to one of the School Application Surgeries over the next 3 weeks. We will be offering digital support advice, scanning services and information to help you."

Applying online has a range of benefits. Applications are made through a secure website and can be viewed and edited online up to the closing date for applications (31 October, 2023).

Applicants will also be able to access their child's school allocation online on 1 March, 2024 rather than having to wait for the post.
